It comes without surprise, weddings are a huge moment in people's lives. A declaration of commitment to one another in front of each others closest relationships. It seems that every year or so, someone does something new and innovative at their wedding that sparks inspiration for dozens of other weddings. One of those crazes was serving coffee instead of having a cocktail bar. Coffee is not typically seen as a hot commodity past 5pm, but for the right crowd, there is not a time of day that coffee seems unappetizing. Here are some reasons you should consider having a coffee bar at your future wedding!
1. Novelty
Having a cocktail hour at a wedding is an easy way to distract guests while the family and wedding party gets their photos in. However, imagine your guests turning the corner to the aroma of fresh coffee! Many people want their wedding to stand out, and what better way than serving something a little different than what they are used to. If it is in your budget and ambitions, we have also seen both a cocktail and a coffee hour, offering a little something for everyone.
2. Make Dry Weddings Exciting
Some people decide to have 'dry' weddings, which is an expression for weddings that do not serve alcohol. Whether you consume alcohol or not, one positive to a cocktail bar is offering your guest a tangible experience with a hand crafted cocktail. That excitement does not have to succumb to just alcohol! We offer a variety of coffee beverages with house made syrups, as well as some mocktail options that offer a fancy experience without involving any alcohol.
3. Custom Menu
We find a lot of joy in making sure the bride and groom have a memorable and frictionless experience at their wedding. We love working with our clients and creating a menu that fits their need. Whether they want a custom syrup, unique drink names, or a beverage that resembles the drink consumed during the couples first coffee date, we got you covered! Our brand is something we are proud of, but your wedding is about YOU! Have a menu design in mind? Certain plants you want near the cart? Custom stamps and stickers for the cups? Tell us your vision so we can make it a reality!
4. Cost
Unfortunately, as fun as a cocktail bar can be, they come with a cost. Liquor is expensive, and so is the license to serve it. Booking a coffee cart allows you to have more flexibility in your budget for other things at your wedding, like a photo booth, or a rotary phone guest book (look it up it's awesome)! We have various tiers that allows us to work within your budget. Our highest tier is what we recommend for events like weddings as it includes unlimited free drinks for up to 100 guests with room for plenty more depending on your wedding size. We can also move that price up or down depending on what kind of services you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to us and just inquire about how much it would cost for us to cater your wedding!
5. Caffeine!
One downside of too much alcohol at a wedding is the late night crash. However, although we do offer decaf, expect endless hours of dancing to celebrate your big day with unlimited amounts of fuel. Coffee might come as a surprise to some people, but once they take their first sip, they'll be lifting you off the ground and parading you around the dance floor in no time. Now if you have a cocktail bar AND a coffee bar, you are on your own. There is no telling where the night may go, so we will leave that decision up to you.
If you got this far, thank you for reading our very first blog! We hope to put some more of these out throughout the year, so if you have a topic in mind that you would like to read about, let us know!
